Ruby Dee *WINS* SAG AWARD
Last night while on the plane back from Oakland, I tuned into the Screen Actor's Guild Awards, which aired live on TNT.
About 3/4 through the show, I got was I was waiting for: Ruby Dee won Best Supporting Actress, edging out "favorites" Cate Blanchett and Amy Ryan.
In her acceptance speech, Dee gave praise to her late husband, Ossie Davis, "I accept it also for my husband Ossie, because he's working on things up there."
The prospects of Dee winning the Oscar next month are looking brighter and brighter.
Looking forward to it.
