the young people's professor

I'm having such a wonderful time at the 2008 African American MSM Leadership Conference that i've decided to extend my stay until Sunday, courtesy of the incomparable staff of People of Color in Crisis (POCC). There are lots of familiar faces here (David Malebranche, Jafari Allen, Kevin Bynes, Michael Roberson, etc.). It's been a pleasure meeting new people as well, especially the many gracious folks that I've run into that have told me how much they enjoy tuning into this blog. Apparently there's also a ball taking place on Saturday, i've met up with some house-kin here in the Bay Area and it's been lots of fun.

This morning my dear colleague Marlon Bailey and I presented on our respective research projects in progress on house ball culture and HIV/AIDS. I also presented a brief, individual "paper" (in actuality it was more like an informal discussion) on interdisciplinary research approaches to HIV/AIDS. I'm lovin' the warm Bay Area hospitality and the exciting conversations with my colleagues.
