The Clip that got Ruby the Nomination

Veteran actress Ruby Dee's Oscar nomination for American Gangster is now receiving considerable attention (and criticism) for what some are calling a masterful, but too brief, performance.

If she wins the Oscar over favorites Cate Blanchett and Amy Ryan, you can attribute her win to this particular scene (and of course, the veteran factor). You already know how I feel about this issue. Dee's five minutes of screentime overshadowed everything Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington did over the course of three hours. And that in of itself deserves Academy Award recognition.

What do you think of Ruby Dee in this scene? Trust me, this is the clip that they'll play on Oscar night.

Ruby Dee is a consummate actress. She's excellent in every movie she's been in. Despite the fact that she gave an excellent performance in American Gangster, her potential win will still seem like johnny-come-lately recognition. Ruby Dee gets my love and support though. I was happy very when she won the SAG and I'll be very happy if she's wins the Oscar.

Have a great weekend!

HEARTSTOPPING - INCREDIBLE - LEGENDARY !!!!!!!!

Frank, Brotha, You MUST Know and Understand that I was LITERALLY in the Movie Theater, APPLAUDING, in My Head, following this Particluar Scene. SERIOUSLY. Ruby Dee is a Screen Siren Who has Captivated Audiences for Years, with her ability to Transform Emotion into Pure, Cinematic Synergy and Genius. The Only Other Scene Ive witnessed her Perform, that I feel OverShadows this One, is her Testament of Greatness in JUNGLE FEVER; when Ossie Davis Shoots Sam Jackson in their Living Room. I was Only 11 or 12 When I FIRST Saw it. It wasnt until My Sophomore Year in Film School that I TRULY felt that Gut Momentum of those 7 Minutes. INCREDIBLE Beyond Belief~
