This just in: the date, location, and categories have been announced for New York City's most highly anticipated ball event: the legendary, annual POCC BALL.

This year POCC (People of Color in Crisis) celebrates its twentieth year of advocacy, activism, and service around issues related to black gay men. The theme of this year's ball is "The Promise," a phrase that is meant to incite dialogues in the black gay community about personal responsibility, committment, and integrity.

The Ball will take place on Sunday June 22, 2008 at last year's fabulous Webster Hall location. Over 5,000 in cash prizes will be given out.

Expect the best of the best. Mark those calenders now. Though i am taking a step back this year in terms of my involvement in the ball scene (in order to focus on my research writing), I'll be at this ball to "defend" my win from last year.
