Back in the Gay: Craig Mack

Back in the gay during my years as a young little lad in Hollis, Queens, I had a secret crush on rapper Craig Mack. It was secret not only because no one knew that I liked boyz yet, but also because everyone around me seemed to think that Craig was ugly. But not lil’ ol me, I thought he was one fine mofo.

Even though Mack’s career was about as short as a Grace Jones haircut, I’ll always remember his beat-banger hit “Flava in Ya Ear” as the official soundtrack of the summer of 1994. Crazy to think that that was fourteen years ago. Hip hop hasn't really been the same since.

Craig Mack, wherever you are, this is for you. This was back in the gay.

Damn frank,

Umm... thats deep. Crag was definetly an aquired taste. Like my my affection for the pre steriod timbaland.

True True. That was my joint! It still is...

Peace Frank!! I must admit, I too thought Craig Mack was hot...I still do.

I've sent you an email at your NYU account in regards to booking you as a speaker for my university's Awareness week. The LGBTQ alliances are producing a week filled with talks by guest speakers, performances(Stacyann Chin is one of the performers), and events to promote awareness on this very mid-western, white, cornfield red-neck campus of Miami University. If for some reason you didn't receive the email please contact me: brianmcqueen7@hotmail.com.

I've mentioned you to members of the administration and they are very eager to have you as a part of this year's events.

Frank,
Very interesting blog. You know Craig Mack really did define that summer! I still rock the original on the I-Pod.

Wooooow! I haven't seen this video in years. I love Busta's hat...classic!

Just came across 60 negatives of a professional Craig Mack photo shoot of him posing in front of and on top of a Mack truck. Looks like these are from back in the day. Lookin to sell em for cheap. If interested, hit me at agranov@rocketmail.com.
