Popular representations of New York City “house ball culture” routinely overlook the long-standing presence of lesbian houses/balls as well as the vibrant black “AG” culture that has been created by and through these sub-cultural events.Come out next weekend for “The Colors Ball” which is being sponsored by two popular women of color lesbian safer-sex houses in New York (The House of Iman and the House of Corleone). The event is being co-sponsored by the Ali Forney Center and People of Color in Crisis, which will be proving free on-site HIV testing.

Wow I can't believe no one has commented on this. I hope there are pics from this ball because I've always wondered what was up with the lesbians. This is the first I've read about there being female houses so I think its really interesting.
