Clips from this weekend's Philly Awards Ball
This past weekend legendary Mann Prodigy, Father of the House of Prodigy, hosted the annual Philadephia Awards Ball. I wasn't in attendance this year (thanks in large part to the growing demands of doctoral student life) but I've been given plenty of first-hand accounts of all the drama. The kids were in the building!
Fellow brooklynite Andre Chanel, the house ball community's most reliable videographer, has posted a great clip of the "ButchQueen Vogue Femme" kids in action this past weekend. New York City's Cassandra Ebony "ate" the competition up. When's he not out in Philadephia giving the kids vogue-hell, Cassandra is actually a part of "ALC"----a special youth development initiative that I've been working with as a part of my on-going collaborations with the boyz at Brooklyn's People of Color in Crisis (P.O.C.C.)

When I first got wind of vogueing kassandra was the first one who really grabbed my attention and after this video he's definitely still my fav. He has such a distinctive style and seemed to bring something different in every performance in this video alone. I love seeing how these guys really put all their energy into their perrformance especially when they really seem to be enjoying themselves.
