Leona Lewis!!

The spirited debate continues between my readers and I regarding the musical genius of the UK's Leona Lewis. Looks like homegirl has released her first single and video, though only in the U.K.

What do we think? I love it, its very Christina Aguilera-esq., particularly around 3:11.

I love Leona Lewis. She's almost the total package. She can sing and she's pretty; unfortunately, she cannot dance a lick. You should check out her first live performance of the song. She was on some Mariah Carey type shit toward the end. Go here: www.toyas-world.blogspot.com

And I think the song is more so Mariah-ish than Christina-ish.

Well, during the verses her voice sounds Christina-ish, but the song overall is vintage Mariah.

She can hit those notes like Mariah though.

thats what make her so UN-UNIQUE, her sounding like another artist. No individuality.....GOD, I am thirsty to hear something new and fresh in the music industry, so I can stop buying music from the 60's, 70's and the 80's. Where people were individuals. This girl is getting over on her looks, she;s pretty, but typical.

Yeah...I did a whole thing about her over on my blog. I totally think of Mariah when I see this chick because like Mimi, her voice is impressive but she never seems to make an emotional connection to her material.
