Sneak Preview: Melody Set Me Free

Below is a quick sneak preview of Guggenheim Fellow Kalup Linzy's latest art-video, "Melody Set Me Free." The video, which co-stars Harmonica Sunbeam, Justin Bond, Sahara Davenport, Joshua Seidner and myself, tells the tale of a country gal ("Patience O'Brian") who travels to the big city to compete in a major talent show with the hopes of becoming the next Whitney Houston.

Naturally, like all of Kalup's work, the video is a kitschy, gloriously low-budget, histrionic spoof on the soap opera genre. Check it out soon a museum or art-gallery near you!
