Whats wrong with the Queers?
Today The Nation, one of the only periodicals that actually showcases radical queer voices these days, posts a wonderful review of the much-discussed LOGO Presidential Forum on its website. I highly recommend that everyone check it out.
The brief but critical discussion is led by The Nation's Associate Editor Richard Kim, a PhD candidate in NYU's American Studies program. The panelists are historian Lisa Duggan, the Director of NYU's American Studies program and author of The Twilight of Equality: Neoliberalism, Cultural Politics and the Attack on Democracy, Alisa Solomon the well-known Village Voice cultural critic and former executive director of the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies, and Tavia Nyong'o, a professor of performance studies at NYU and author of the forthcoming book The Amalgamation Waltz: Antebellum Genealogies of the Hybrid Future.
Check it out here. Ah, its good to finally see/hear some dissenting voices in this ridiculously populist age of queer neoliberalism.
