Well, I have to say, I'm absolutely in the love with the direction VIBE Magazine has taken since the return of Danyel Smith as its Editor-in-Chief. Finally the magazine is returning to the edgy, black-Rolling Stone sensibility that made the publication so successful in the early 90s.With the exception of that ghastly 50 cent cover a few months back, i've also noticed a more minimalist art direction, which has given the publication a more sosphisicated flare.



I'm thrilled to hear that Senator Barack Obama will grace the cover of the magazine's August issue. This is a "first" for VIBE, Smith says its the first time a "political figure" has graced its cover. Quite frankly, its about time. And aww, look at Obama looking all swaggar-ish. I aint mad at ya' brotha, I aint mad at all. Pick up your copy on August 14th.What do you think?


Rihanna lands VIBE Vixen cover


Well since i'm giving kudos to VIBE, I might as well mention the cutesy cover of its sassy spin-off mag, Vibe Vixen. Rihanna's looking pretty good, I think. I love the beijing-black wig. Her nose still irks me though. And no----before the afrocentrists arrest me---let me be clear: its not the "blackness" of Rihanna's nose that bothers me, its that ridiculous dam curve.

Random Skank Moment: Brittany & Black ButchQueen



Can someone please just go ahead and put an to end Brittany Spears' 10 minutes of fame? I dont know why its lasted this long. I mean, didn't the whole white trash thing go out of style last year? There are so many other untalented white people we could be focusing our energies on right now, like I dont know, George Bush maybe.

Ugh. The latest images of Brittany show the former Pop-Princess looking a hot shitty mess with a random black butchqueen at Club One, the popular New York nightclub. Spears is also pictured sandwiched between two strippers, ass all out, looking all nasty and shit. Someone just give this crazy trash-bucket a shot of prozac and put her out of her misery already.



Paris Hilton in Blackface. Yes, im serious.

Speaking of untalented white women, Paris Hilton will appear in blackface for an episode of The Simple Life. I wish this was a joke, but unfortunately it isnt.

Images from a new episode of the show have emerged with Hilton smiling from ear to ear as she is being painted in blackface. Even though i'm appalled, i'm not surprised---i've come to expect such ridiculousness from this disrespectful heffa. Let her bring that shit to the ghetto and she'd gag and just how face she'd get knocked the fuck out.

Executive Realness all day, Everyday: Kanye West's new Harper's Bazaar spread


Speaking of Swaggarish rap stars, I am in love with Kanye West's new spread in Harpers Bazaar. I gotta use this effect for "Executive Realness" one day. Kanye and his gorgeous fiancee Alexis Pheifer are pictured lounging in their pop-fab Los Angeles mansion. I'm diggin' it.



In completely unrelated news: Corey Clark of American Idol arrested again.



Remember Corey Clark, the American Idol wannabe who was kicked off season two for hiding his arrest record? Yeah, I didn't remember either. A couple of years ago he resurfaced saying he had an affair with Paula Abdul too. Well he's in the news again. This time it's because he was arrested for drugs. The Pulaski County Sheriff's office says Clark was arrested for possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at about 2:30 a.m. I'd still have with him though, no shade.

Is it hot or a chop? I'm still trying to figure that out myself. I mean, it's a cute look, I guess. But can I be Frank? When is mama's career finally going to set into full swing? In the three years since she won Next Top Model, I've still yet to see her in a major, high fashion campaign (sorry, MarcEcko and makeup ads dont count boo). What's the shade? Eva is a beautiful girl, she deserves more. Maybe this "new look" can get her a quality campaign instead of these endless gay club and ball appearances mama's been relying on. Obama...made a mistake running with the whole cool, rock star-esque image. Yes, he's mad popular with the youngins, but the youngins don't vote. Sen. Clinton will get the democratic nod.

Rihanna...needs to disappear. I'm just not a fan. I still can't believe she's selling umbrellas. What's next? Mary Kay?

Brittany...wow. I'm surprised Wal-mart hasn't approached her with a sponsorship deal.

Paris...if you hadn't mentioned that was blackface, I wouldv'e thought she was just really tanned.

Kanye....I'm starting to feel him more and more. I used to hate him.

-Paris is Paris....i saw that bs on a preview and she was all like "I look so hot like this"...girl ghost...

-TI i gotta admit is doing it big on these shoots....

-Britney? what can i say....moreso im worried about the dude...

-and i gotta admit i used to hate Rihanna, but she is doing her thing now....it's a break from seeing Beyonce all the time...she can't sing but she can take some photos.
