Who wants to have a baby with Frank Leon Roberts?

Well folks, im a little less than two months away from my 25th Birthday. Looking at my "life checklist," i think im pretty much on track in terms of all of my goals, dreams, and aspirations.
But there's just one "little" thing that i've made absolutely no progress on. Let me explain. I promised myself that by 30 i'd be a daddy. The world needs a little "Frank Leon Roberts' " running around, no?
Is it time for me to start lookin' for my baby's mama?

She just needs to be gorgeous, disgustingly intelligent, and patient (after all, she'll need to deal with me as Baby's Daddy). And naturally, she needs to be a woman of color (sorry Amy Winehouse). I promise to be a good papa---i'll teach him (or her) about Jean Michel Basquiat, Kevin Aviance and maybe how to be a Mack Daddy. You know, the typical Father stuff.
What's a brother to do? I only have five years left before the big 3-0, and i havent found that "Mrs. Right."
Applications now being accepted!

I think you'd be a good dad.

Why not adopt, Frank? I'd def. marry you in order to facilitate it-- we'll adopt one kid for you, one for me, then separate amicably.

In all seriousness, I find it intersting that you would bring up the issue of finding a "baby mother." As a black lesbian, a couple years shy of thirty and currently unpartnered I've considered the myriad of options available in the event that I decide to reproduce, with or out without a partner. I've thought about co-parenting with a nice, intellectual black gay male but I fear all the issues of sharing the child that came up on "Queer As Folk." Superficial, maybe. But definitely worth thinking about. Good luck with your search if you are serious.

What are your thoughts on adoption versus having 'your own' child? I've often thought about this myself. There is something wonderful and intriguing about watching how you and your partner's DNA manifest a human being that's an extension of you, your legacy yet at the same time you can't ignore the thousands of orphaned black babies in need of homes...
Also, I've been quietly reading your blog for a couple of months and I find it very thought provoking but not too esoteric. I too am heavily influenced/inspired by Basquiat... Nice work.
