Frankie's New Experimental Diet: "The Pinkberry Diet"

The future of Frozen Yogurt: Pinkberry in Chelsea

Nestled on eight avenue between a drabby apartment building and a cheesy Italian restaurant, Chelsea's Pinkberry cant be missed: neon-futuristic pockadots adorn a gigantic, floor-to-ceiling window; a colorful PINKBERRY banner glows like a dragqueen at her first ball; and an string of Chelsea muscle queens wait on the endless line outside.

Called "crackberry" by many of its weight-conscious fans, Pinkberry makes Tasti-Delight taste like hospital food. I'm telling you this is the future of frozen yogurt dammit! Pinkberry was originally launched two years ago in Los Angeles, and has finally arrived to New York City by way of Koreatown, Nolita, and Chelsea.

I can honestly say it is the best fat-free frozen yogurt I have ever tasted. It only comes in two flavors ("Original" and "Green Tea") but the endless array of fresh-fruit toppings are absolutely amazing: strawberries, blueberries, mangos, pineapple--you name it. And here is the best part: only 25 calories per ounce!

The sizes are small (5 ounces) medium (8 ounces) and large (13 ounces) totaling a mere 125, 200, or 325 calories. Fresh off of another failed-attempt at the Beyonce Diet, i've decided to try something new. Thats right, for the past three days I have been on what I call the "Pinkberry" Diet.

It's fabulous!


My daily food intake consists of one 8 ounce serving of Pinkberry (with completely fresh strawberries) for lunch (we skip Breakfast altogether) and one 8 ounce serving of Pinkberry for a late night snack (circa 11). For "dinner" I have some kind of roasted vegetable dish and maybe a piece of Grilled chicken. But on a "good day," I'll just eat Pinkberry all day (no more than three 8 ounce cups, totaling 600 calories).

Now I know all of you nutrition freaks will tell me how I'm not supposed to be eating less than 1,200 calories a day, blah, blah, blah---i'm young, I feel fine dammit. I'm taking all these funky GNC vitamins, so im "balanced" dont worry.

After my Pinkberry dinner last night, I walked from 42nd street in Times Square to my apartment in Bedstuy, Brooklyn----which is about 10 miles. What a rush! Amazing experience, i'm planning on doing the same thing again tomorrow.

I'm wondering if I can combine the Pinkberry diet with a work-out regime that consists of three, 10 mile walks per week?

As of this morning I am 6'0 and 168.9 pounds (already 10 pounds down from what I was at the start of the Beyonce Diet)---but i'm really hoping to get back down to my high-school-years-size of 155 pounds by the end of the summer.

One 8 ounce cup of original Pinkberry Frozen Yogurt
(BE SURE TO ASK THE CASHIER TO ACTUALLY WEIGHT THE CUP SO THAT YOU ARE NOT GETTING MORE THAN 8 OUNCES!)
You can select any FRESH FRUIT topping.

You MAY NOT under any desperate circumstances select any of the "fat fuck" toppings. These include Captain Crunch, Fruity Pebbles, Yogurt Chips, Chocolate Chips, etc. etc. ONLY FRESH FRUIT!!!


LUNCH
Repeat Procedure Above.


DINNER
Repeat Procedure Above.
OR
If the "going gets rough," and you're tempted to actually eat whole-foods, try some kind of small serving of roasted vegetable alongside a LIGHT, GRILLED meat
(Grilled chicken breat is the only really "safe" option.)

That's crazy... Here I am at 6'1 and 160 trying to bulk up, while you are trying to get down to 155. If you don't mind me asking what is your reason? I mean, from your pictures you look good currently. Are you trying to get it back in muscles, or something?

hey, i feel you. It's hard to be NOT skinny in New York. I've gone on even worse diets - i've lost 20lbs so far. I can't say it's good... but it gets the job done. take care buddy.

6'0" 155lbs seems dangerously thin...they way you are doing it might make your body think it is goign through a famine. The result will be when you do start eating again your body will store the fat because it is 'protecting' you from another famine.
