House of Allure Ball this Saturday in New York City.
It has been a long while since I’ve officially “endorsed” a particular house’s ball. I try to avoid doing this because inevitably I am accused of favoritism. In addition, it’s been well over a year since I last graced the runway of a ball, so I’ve loss touch of the pulse and vibe of the scene.
But there's one upcoming event that I can enthusiastically recommend to all of you. The
Legendary House of Allure will be having its ball this Saturday in downtown Manhattan's hip and trendy Irving Plaza. I can guarantee that if nothing else, the event should be very well attended.
Over $8,000 (!!) in cash-prizes are up for grabs. The 50-plus categories range from butch "realness" to male “sex siren” to transgender “female performance.” This is the first time the House of Allure has had a ball in over a decade, so there’s lots of anticipation in the air. And yes, all of the illustrious "children" from coast to coast (Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, D.C., Philadelphia, etc.) will all be in attendance.
The Allures are a great group, their one of my favorite houses actually. I’m sure they’ll put on an event that is professional, classy, and full of high-energy moments. I'm not sure if I’ll be able to make it (still staggering towards the finish line of mission "Dr. Frank Roberts"--ugh!) but I’m sure that it will be lots of fun.
Tell them I sent you. Info below:
