Phrases academics use wayyy too much: an ongoing observation.

“always already”

Example: “What are the ways in which notions of freedom are always already linked to a problematic recourse to the law?”

Example: “Im interested in the ways in which we can interpret _____ as a sort of hybrid amalgamation of ______.



And I'm sure i'll hear plenty of these phrases tomorrow at CUNY's Theorizing Blackness conference.

In undergrad, we used to count how many times Eddie Glaude would say "in interesting sorts of ways".

lol, you can't forget "X,Y,Z highlights the meaningful ways in which the performative _______ oscillate between ________ and __________.
