THIS WEEK'S "NEGRO ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" MOMENT: MICHAEL JACKSON IN EBONY MAGAZINE

The incomparable Michael Jackson appears in next month's Ebony Magazine rocking a fresh perm and face lift number 666. Is it just me or does Michael now officially look like the misbegotten child of Mick Jagger and Stephanie Milan ?
(and i mean that in a loving kind of way, of course)

All we can say is....Negro, are you kidding me?

Michael has been rockin' wigs for awhile now - Where's his scalp?

Just in time his Neverland Ranch goes into foreclosure...

Why did he wait so late to be fluffed back up in Ebony?

Folks,
Come on...compared to days gone by...he looks "fab"...and don't we all really want see him "comeback"?
I have long been one of his biggest detractors...but, I mean, even I have to "give it a rest", sometime or another.
I hope he "brings the music", with his upcoming release...because he's been away long enough (and I mean that in a "loving kind of way").

Frank,

I thought it was just me and I love Michael but like Kat Williams said, "we needed you to be a negro in your days of goodness." Amen!

i think he looks good in that lace front and im definitely feeling some of the clothes they picked out

Well, I wish him well, just never thought I would see a Asian-White woman on the cover of Ebony, and, with a spread on her.

Micheal Jackson is a Legend. He was famous since he was a child. I love all of his songs with The Jackson 5 and when he went solo. His personal life is none of my business. His music has helped millions of people. He has raised millions of dollars for different charities ans schools.
I think his look is his alone. He can be whomever he wishes to be. He broke records with his music. He wears the wigs because he chooses to. It's his "look". I love his music and the way he performs. Micheal GOD BLESS YOU and your family!

I wonder when people make negative comments is it to uplift the person or is it to destroy them? Just asking.
Micheal is a legend. His name is in the Hall of Fame. People have attacked him since The Jackson 5. Why? I am sure the "Haters" have some of his music. Why do African Americans tear down their own? I could never understand this concept of hating your own. The "Negro are you kiddng me?.." comment sounds very negative...why? If he perms his hair, why is that a problem for you? You being from the ball scene and all. Most of the ball queens relax their hair or "perm" their hair. Why is it such a "problem" for black americans when a black man decides to change the texture of their hair? My understanding is that African Americans should not be able to change. Since slavery. "How dare they want to express themselves as individuals."
Frank, sometimes I think you are not truthful to yourself. You contradict yourself, at times.
Everyone has a right to their own opinion, but I think you are attacking Micheal's "Blackness". When has relaxing your hair or getting a lace front wig changed how "black" a person is? He has acheived more than most people have in his life time and he may do even more good things in the future.
I have been reading your blog for a while and I decided to do my own Blog that uplifts the people of color and all of our complexities. We have a right to be who we want when we want. There shouldn't be a "cookie cutter" look just because we are people of color.

The word Negro is a very old racial term for people of color. I thougt you were studying racial inequality and on and on. How is it that you are using terms and phrases that put "US" down? I don't understand, please explain.
The word Negro is a slave name and I do not consider myself that at all. You should know better. Even if you are kidding, it still is upsetting to see an African American use these terms over and over again without any type of explaination. Do you use those words as a joke or to "keep it real in the hood"? I don't get it.

Frank, you have a B.A. in African American studies. Why do you say "Negro are you kidding me?" It's like saying "Why do you, as a black man think you can be who you are on the cover of Ebony, looking as you do?." It is as though you are challenging Micheal's being itself. I don't understand some of your Blog, this being one of them.
