conference papers, dissertation prospectus, etc.

As usual, I am overworked and underpayed. On Wednesday I head down to Washington, D.C. to deliver a paper at the annual American Anthropological Association Conference, on Friday the final draft of my dissertation prospectus is due to my committee, on Sunday night I fly to Atlanta to deliver a paper at the Center for Disease Control's annual National HIV Prevention Conference, on Monday I move into my new apartment in Brooklyn, and on Thursday of next week I defend my dissertation prospectus.

Needless to say all of this has slowed down the launch date of the new canwebefrank.com. We're working on though folks, just be patient. The new site will be more relaxed and will feature guest blogs from folks you know and love like performance artist Kalup Linzy and urban night denizen/ballroom diva Jacques Mizrahi.  The site is also the beginning of a wonderful colloboration between myself and Brooklyn's People of Color in Crisis, a major HIV/AIDS prevention agency that targets black gay men.

More soon. Sit tight.

Warmly,
Frank Leon Roberts

Keep on holdin on Frank. From one doc student to another, I totally know what you're feeling....all this damn scrambling back and forth, working your ass off, and being the brunt of relentless 'constructive criticism'...it can all be a bit much at times.

KEEP IN MIND that you are doing ridiculously big things, and delayed gratification yields tremendous benefits! Work it out boy!

Keep pushing black man. I'm encouraged by your example. From one brother to another, I'm proud of you. Continue moving forward and make all your dreams come true. Just never forget the younger brothers coming after you. Always offer a word or a way to make their journey a llttle easier then yours. You are a bright light in this world and never let others tell you other wise.

Keep on doing what you do Frank. You are an inspiration to myself and others alike. So many people appreciate and benefit from all that you do and all that is yet to come. And, though this journey may be long there is much fulfillment awaiting you.

. . . i'm . . . impressed with your busy . . .
