This was a big weekend in New York City's underground world of balls. The legendary House of Mizrahi had its first national meeting, bringing together hundreds of members from New York City, Atlanta, Chicago, Virginia, North Carolina, Miami and Los Angeles. If I had to describe the meeting, I'd say it featured all the hot boyz, drinks, and drama of a regional meeting for Kappa Alpha Psi with the love, gossip, and randomness of a southern black family reunion.
-
We spent the crashing our hotels, club hopping, and bouncing from mini-ball to mini-ball. On Sunday, Mother Jack Mizrahi hosted his always-hot "Superball Sunday" event at Club Escuelita.
-
Way too much went down over for me to go into details, but I all I say is i've NEVER seen Escuelita as packed as it was on Sunday! To say that we (the Mizrahi's) rolled DEEP is an understatement.

Here's a quick visual recap:

I was waiting on your pics from this. I have never been to a Ball and my knowledge of them is limited to the 80's documentary "Paris is Burning". Like most things do, I am sure the Ball circuit has changed, but still quite interesting. Guess I will make it to one at some point.

Frank, you betta work! I have been meaning to give you props for previous posts on this tip. Just amazing all the beauty you capture and feature here--all these beautiful, young, fabulous young Black people, creating their own legendariness! It's been years since I've had any contact with any of the ball people, and many who'd be my age are no longer with us anymore, so just looking at the photos fills we me with joy.
