Stacy Dash does Playboy...our thoughts?


I remember the first time I saw Stacy Dash on the big screen: it was 1989, Richard's Pryor's film "Moving." I swore at that moment that my seven-year old dreams of brown BOYS were "finally" wearing off (alas, they never did). I thought Stacy was hands-down, the prettiest black "girl" i'd ever seen.

Several years later she (re)debuted as a flighty yet insightful Beverly Hills bombshell in Amy Heckerling's hilarious pop-cult classic "Clueless" . Not only was I in awe at the then near-thirty year old actress's ability to convincingly portray a seventeen year old, I also still thought Stacy was the most gorgeous woman alive.

Since then I've always looked for Stacy in more film and television roles, but have always been left disappointed. I've wondered over the years why other seemingly less talented and dare-I-say-it less attractive actresses have landed roles that would have been perfect for Miss Dash.

Now, at 40 years old (I swear, she needs to be the posterchild for "black dont crack..."), Stacy's new playboy spread has just be released. I cant help but wonder whether this spread is an example of grown, mature, middle-aged woman expressing her agency and control over her
body and sexiness, or an obvious example of a sistah that had to say:

"I-have-no-other-choice-but-to-pose-for-playboy-since-roles-for-black-actresses-
are-so-rare-in-Hollywood". Is this what happened?


How do we feel about this new spread? How can we applaud Stacy's right to choose posing nude while still questioning whether less-than-ideal conditions in Hollywood pressure Black actresses to make "B-list" moves? What do you think? Thumbs up, or thumbs down?....

She's beautiful. Always has been knock-out!

I have often wondered what happened to the Black actress who played Lisa Turtle on Saved by the Bell.

She was another gorgeous woman that was never heard from again.

Everybody likes to say that TRUE gorgeousness works for ligher skinned women. But I would say that so far, it hasn't.

I say thumbs up and down... I have been a Stacy dash fan forever, and when ever i see her in videos or on tv i am posted up... She is sexy, hot and just damm dammm dammm thanks for the photos... i will add them to my collection.. But on the flipside... things like this have a way of haunting you... Yes other stars have gone this route... But i view playboy as trash.... I personally as a black lesbian do not like any magazines who display women as nothing more than a way to excite the hetorsexual imagination... So thumbs down to Stacy displaying herself in such a mag... I am sure King would not have turned her down and she could have kept her clothes.... on.... But dam she is so hotttttt...

Stacy looks amazing as usual, but I am disappointed with her for her decision. Little black girls look up to her and what does this say to them?

She's a fine actress and certainly candy for the eyes....how will taking your clothes off make you more noticed in white hollywood? Especially when they have ignored you for years anyways.

Ms Dash these pictures are good at 41 to girl you have it going on I always thought you were very underrated in Hollywood cause weather you doing Playboy or doing a movie or just going to the store you are a very attractive women keep doing what you are doing and stay up.

The world is a better place with Stacy amongst us! It is with heightened pleasure that she is here for all to witness that the Creator has quite a mind for design and eye too. The Boogie Down is indeed well represented by its citizen and daughter! Continue on being the beautiful creation that you are and giving this old heart and eyes of mine a wonderful break!

I guess there were only stupid men or dikes to post these idiotic comments. I feel so sorry for what Stacy Dash has had to lower herself to do. Instead of a top leading actress in Hollywood, which probably was her dream from childhood, to now being some perverted man's jerk off chick is degrading. I have always been a true Stacy Dash fan because of her Work and her beauty as a strong black woman. You weirdos need help!
